Assessing the performance of the bootstrap in simulated assemblage networks

Abstract Archaeologists are increasingly interested in networks constructed from site assemblage data, which weighted network ties reflect sites’ similarity. Equivalent would arise other scientific fields where actors’ similarity is assessed by comparing distributions of observed counts, so the assemblages studied here can represent kinds domains. One concern with such work that sampling variability and, turn, measures calculated must be recognized any comprehensive analysis. In this study, we investigated use bootstrap as a means estimating networks. We evaluated performance simulated networks, using probability structure based on actual distribution sherds ceramic wares region 25 archaeological sites.
